Day-Date 40
228235
One of Rolex's most prestigious collections, famously favoured by Presidents and Prime Ministers, the Day-Date originated in 1956 and earned its name from a special new movement that showed not just the date (at 3 o'clock) but also the day of the week in a regal looking window at 12. The watch is also known for being among the first to be officially labelled "Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified" on the dial, thanks to its excellent 1055 movement. In 2015, Rolex introduced a new 40mm model with an enhanced, modern design and an upgraded calibre: the 3255. This superb and very special 2016 version of that watch boasts a magnificent green dial to celebrate the Day Date's 60th anniversary.
